Scoring of priority criteria for granting planting permits 2022

For each year the area available for new planting permits corresponds to 1% of the total wine-growing area of the country according to the inventory relating to the areas planted on 31 July of the previous year.

Where the eligible applications for authorisation submitted in the course of the year concern a total area less than the area available for the year, all relevant authorisations shall be approved.

If the total area of eligible applications exceeds the area available for allocation, then the allocation is made at the level of eight (8) regions according to the priority criteria selected for each of them. The available acres at the district level (1 to 8) are determined at 1% of the planted area of each region, as announced in the annual census of the previous year.

For the allocation of new planting permits, the following eight (8) regions are defined:

  1. EASTERN MACEDONIA – THRACE
  2. CENTRAL MACEDONIA
  3. HSR. MACEDONIA
  4. THESSALY
  5. ATTICA, CENTRAL GREECE
  6. WESTERN GREECE
  7. PELOPONNESE
  8. IONIAN ISLANDS, NORTH AEGEAN, SOUTH AEGEAN, CRETE, and EPIRUS

In this case, in order to obtain the new planting permits, priority criteria as selected for each region according to the tables set out below shall be applied.

Each parcel receives a score on each criterion based on the weighting factor W and the conformity factor Pt. Classification of eligible individual applications is done electronically by applying the general formula:

Pt = W1 * Pt1 + W2 * Pt2 + W3 * Pt3 + W4 * Pt4 + W5* Pt5

Where: Pt = set of points assigned to a particular request

W1, W2, W3, W4, W5 = criterion weighting factor

Pt1, Pt2, Pt3, Pt4, Pt5 = coefficient of compliance with the criteria

Where the application includes more than one parcel, the marking shall be calculated for each parcel separately.
